A young fir kneels in fog and granite.

This popular drawing comes from a hike with some friends to the top of a local trail, where the mountain was wrapped in clouds. Hiking further up, we encountered this young fir tree growing directly out of a granite outcropping. This drawing includes several metaphors, but I don't know that everybody sees them immediately. (Do we ever see the lessons right away?)
