Idaho's Lake Pend Oreille lies like a sheet of steel as seen from up near the ski resort. In the spring of the year we frequently see the mist crawling along the mountains like this and making everything lush and mysterious. Not to brag about where I live, folks, but …well, I like it. I chose to depict the area as it would have appeared 50 years ago, which means I removed the Walmart and the mall from near the lake, and kept the fields and forests. I like it better that way.
