The massive trunk of a Western Red Cedar stands like a pillar amidst its fronds.
The Western Red Cedar is a magnificent tree species common in the Northwest. They can live over 1000 years and grow to over 200 feet tall, with a trunk over eight feet thick at the base. This grandsire grows in the moist draw just above the house. I wanted to portray the tree’s strength offset by the feathery lightness of its boughs.
