Oregon’s Multnomah Falls pounds down like white fire.
Inverted white fire pours down perpetually in America's second highest waterfall, Multnomah Falls. The continual mist thrown off by this fierce majesty bathes the eyes, the skin, and the heart. These falls have intrigued me since I saw a photo of them at age 12. When I was three times that age, we took our kids to see them in Oregon. For a long time when I started a graphite painting, I wasn't sure how I would catch the image. After much work on this piece, I think I succeeded in making that white mist feel like the actual sheets of cold water drifting down.
