I enjoy running early in the morning, and I encounter beautiful scenes throughout the year. This drawing represents an old homestead set back from the road. I don’t typically draw buildings or man-made objects, but something about the old barn and shacks set back in the trees spoke to me. I’ve intentionally left a lot of snow in the foreground and a mysterious glow over the mountain: It’s a tribute to those now buried in the ground where they worked so hard for so long.
